Taylor Swift: Moving Too Fast?

Celebrity stars shine so bright and we look up to them. Yet often we are puzzled when they fall, so Shrink Wrap is here to shed light on all.

Grammy winning singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has been linked to dashing 18 year-old Conor Kennedy since early summer. Swift is 22. The grandson of Robert F. Kennedy and daughter of late Mary Kennedy, Conor is not the first high profile beau for Swift, who has dated Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Lautner and John Mayer (then channeled her heartbreak into number one hit songs). But are things moving too fast?

If so, it’s no surprise. Swift is one woman who knows how to dive in head-first. A genre crossing pop star and multi-millionaire, she’s said about herself that she is usually very smart, except when it comes to matters of love. She has reportedly bought a house across the street from the Kennedy family, and even flown Conor on her private jet to meet her for a weekend away. Like each of her previous relationships, it’s likely that her affection is raw, true and moving along at super speed.

But is Conor moving too fast? His mother, Mary, took her own life in May. Some media reports have accused Swift of taking advantage of the high school senior during a vulnerable moment. They wonder if the relationship could be mere fodder for her next greatest hit album. While the romance may pop-up in future lyrics (she is a song-writer after all) Taylor has long demonstrated her big, wide-open heart. On the outside the pair suit each other well, and love and companionship can be truly healing for many enduring grief. Here’s hoping they both enjoy the swooning pleasure of young love at their very own pace.
