Kourtney Kardashian: Moving On Doesn’t Mean Giving Up
By Dr. Jane Greer
Celebrity stars shine so bright and we look up to them. Yet often we are puzzled when they fall, so Shrink Wrap is here to shed light on all.
When Penelope Scotland was born on July 8, to Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick, the couple was primed to be a perfect nuclear family with mom, dad and big brother Mason (2). Scott wasn’t exactly an angel after Mason was born, but he and Kourtney had worked things out and were excited for their first little girl. Unfortunately, Scott almost immediately after the delivery, pulled a repeat offense of his post-partum boozing, and got himself kicked to the curb for the second baby in a row.
Having a baby is a joyous and celebratory time. Though in many relationships, baby’s first year can be a difficult thing to survive. Even the strongest duos wobble on the brink of exhaustion and when patience runs short, it’s often the partner who bears the blow.
Kourtney and Scott have been up and down since their relationship began. And it wouldn’t be surprising if they got together again… eventually. In the meantime though, she’s solving her problems by moving forward and not looking back. With Scott proving unreliable, Kourtney didn’t beg or wait for him to change. With baby Penny barely 12 weeks old, Kourtney is reportedly already back on her blackberry tapping out emails to her Dash store manager in LA. Delegating from afar she’s thrown herself back into work, and also hired a nanny for some reliable help.
While some might say replacing Scott financially with her work and logistically with the nanny (and others might even argue that she should) Kourtney is simply putting herself and her babies, first. If their past gives any indication of their future, she’s likely not giving up on the man she loves. Just taking care of business, the way the best moms do.
